We go out into the world full of positivity, or maybe indifference. But, nevertheless, your day to day life is running as it should be. There are no major problems or dramas. Then all of a sudden life can throw you a curve ball and fling an individual off balance.
It could be that a person has just lost their job. A job that they loved, which provided a decent standard of living. But, to a person who’s never really faced any form of adversity, they might think to themselves that everything will be fine. Getting another job will be no problem.
What happens if that other job doesn’t materialise, after much effort in trying to find it? Bills have to be paid, a living standard has to be maintained. A complete revaluation about how to spend money then enters the fray. Panic kicks in, stress, and anxiety can become prominent in that person’s mind.
When life goes wrong, for some it can be a real hard blow. Why? Because a person who’s never faced adversity won’t have the right mental tools to counteract it. Instead of thinking rationally, some individuals with no history of bad events in their life will fold up and become psychologically damaged.
But, when a person has the correct mental strategies in place, the curve balls, won’t be so damaging. OK, the adversity might still be there no matter how hard an individual tries to change things. But when faced with such situations, there are two choices at play. Do you over react and put more pressure on yourself? Or do you accept that things aren’t going according to plan?
Hypnotherapy for Self-confidence in Essex
When engaging with hypnotherapy, for such issues as stress, anxiety, or insomnia, as a result of things going wrong, it’s our role to create a mindset that can handle adversity. Yes, we know we can’t help you press a magic button and boom your whole life has reverted back to being positive again. What we can help with, is to come to terms with a life that’s gotten out of control, and develop a potential new mindset from there.
If a person has a desire to be strong enough to be able to face what life’s throwing at them, we can help. How? By giving the sub-conscious mind the correct suggestions and images to generate a positive inner strength for that person.
It would be our job too to encourage that person to look for alternatives that could improve their lives. Like re-training in a new skill, taking on board fitness, meditating or doing yoga to calm the mind during times of trouble.
There are a multitude of things a person can take on board to help them develop their inner strength. Coping mechanisms are there, if a person looks. If for example life gets out of hand, having a nervous breakdown will not change anything at all. Why? Because the thing that caused the problem will still be there, from the time they wake up until the time they go to bed.
Taking positive action to counteract the negativity is the one and only way to move forward and cushion the blow of adversity. In addition, never listen to negative doom and gloom merchants who peddle their dark perceptions on life. These types of people always seem to appear when things can go wrong.
Sometimes, when things don’t go according to plan, it can be a blessing in disguise. It will make an individual stop and reflect on what the next move is. It could mean starting up a new business. Before the negativity crept in, that person stayed in their comfort zone collecting a pay cheque from their job each month. Then as time moves on, the person who started that business could look back, once the business has become successful, and reflect on how lucky they’ve been.
Life will always be filled with plots and twists. We as responsible human beings must always be prepared for such events to happen. Not that it should be a dominant thought in our minds, but at the same time just be aware that things can go wrong.
Having a negative mindset can be a habit. It doesn’t matter if life’s just flowing along fine, or when things go wrong. Some individuals will always have the perception of the glass always being half empty.
It’s the role of the hypnotherapist to show and train such individuals that they can face the problems that life throws at them. When adversity comes calling to a person with a positive mindset, they roll with the punches and carry on fighting no matter what.
It’s quite obvious what the best route to success is when a person needs to bounce back after adversity. But habits of mind can always try and pull a person back. Through engaging with hypnotherapy, any individual is giving themselves a change to fight back after facing the affects of adversity. It’s then up to the individual to move forward, once the momentum has been built up through hypnotherapy, and create positive change.
