Hypnosis to Stop Low Self-Esteem in Essex
We all have moments where we look back at times in our lives and wished we could have done things differently. Sometimes we can look back without too much pain attached to those regrets, other times they can make us feel unsettled and depressed. The past is the past, all that exists is now, yet each of us has regrets of some kind that drag us back to the past.
Regrets can come in a variety of forms, but if they make us feel bad about ourselves, clearly the mind will not let up. Feeling bad because of regrets can lead to feelings of low self esteem too. Depending on what a person has regrets about, a positive mindset is vital in such situations. Having the inner power to step back from feeling regret, and analysing how much of an impact it’s having on that person’s life, has to be the first step towards overcoming being trapped in that level of thinking.
I’m not suggesting here that we should all be cold and indifferent to what went on in the past. But, what sense does it make to let regrets dominate your personality? The biggest step to take the sting out of regretful feelings, is to find some peace within yourself, to find solace in the event or occasion that made you feel regretful in the first place. Yes, it’s not easy, but an end to such reflection has to begin from somewhere.
We all have a past of some description, in addition we all change and evolve over time too. Perhaps you’ve done something when you were younger, whereby you were immature, and had no life experience? Unfortunately, if we had high levels of naivety in the past, there will always be a consequence to that level of being.
If you’ve evolved and grown in life, there will always be elements of the past that make you cringe. No matter what the thing is that makes a person feel regret, realise that that was you in a time of your life where you were not the person you are now. Being philosophical, and reflecting on how you’ve changed as a person, can also bring about feelings of betterment.
Draw up a list of how you were as a person back then, when you acted in a certain way that brings you feelings of regret today. What were your characteristics? What was your mindset like at the time? What was your position in life at that time in the past? Then, once you have a picture about how you were in the past, do the same again for how you are in the present. Compare and contrast, to see how much you’ve changed as a person. I’m sure you’ll draw a conclusion about why you acted like you did, to bring that regret?
